I started reading everything I could find on success, psychology, and personal development.
Funny, but nearly every author claimed they had the one or two key concepts that lead to success and riches. I’d read one book and think I had the answer, but in the next book, a different concept was revealed that was supposedly the key to limitless success, happiness, and abundance.
Eventually, I read and listened to hundreds of authors, and encountered a ton of key concepts, each one promising astounding riches and success. Soon after, I wondered – does any of this really work? I asked myself, if these things really worked, and anyone can obtain them, why isn’t everyone living the life they want?
Just didn’t make sense. So, I decided to do more research. I turned to self-help books next. I read all the biggies as well as devouring texts about business leaders, technology leaders, the best thinkers of our time about how humans operate and organize their lives. There were so many opinions in those texts. Nothing to soothe the battered egos and souls, though. In six months, I’d read dozens of books and felt like I was still on the outside looking in. I began visiting websites that promised insights. There were the religious zealots, the stop smoking and diet successfully places. The followers of Zen. How to manage time to live a better life. They all required a buy-in of someone’s theory on what life is all about. I’d buy their books and read their blogs, always hoping to find that “Aha!” moment that would knock the scales off my eyes and let me see what so many people were doing wrong and what they should be doing right. Yet, something was missing.
My "Aha Moment" arrived after I was introduced to EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) when I was dealing with the ravages of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) having been held up at gunpoint. Several months after this incident, I was waking up with nightmares, having flashbacks, and it became evident to me that I was suffering the ravages of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I sought out the services of a traditional talk therapist. Although beneficial, it did little to alleviate the PTSD.
It was when I was introduced to an EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner that the symtoms were removed, and I was finally free of the nightmares and flashbacks.
Discovering the powers of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and its ability to eliminate fears, uncertainties and doubts so quickly, I realized my life wound take another turn. This, and the host of other events in my life, is allowing me to write my book “The Journey of a Mans Life”. It is about how a mans life, seen through quantum physics, metaphysics, universal laws, spirituality, and alternative healing practices is impacted, when the choice to unlock the shackles of a fear-based ego allows him to set himself free, and he begins to see his life in all its magnificence.
I know from my many conversations with friends and family that what matters most is summed up quite nicely in this quote from George Allen:
“Health, happiness and success depend upon the fighting spirit of each person. The big thing is not what happens to us in life — but what we do about what happens to us.”
